Thanksgiving Day at the Pole

Santa's Note for the Holidays

[Thanksgiving Day at the Pole]

Editor's Note: Santa is celebrating Thanksgiving in his usual way--visiting parades all over the United States! But before he left, he sent this note to us to publish today.

Ho ho? Is this thing working? Well, I hope it is.

Hello everyone, this is Santa. I hope you're having a good Thanksgiving day! Usually, I ask if you've been naughty or nice, but I have to tell you, I've been checking my Naughty/Nice list twice each day, and it seems like there's a lot of you out there who have been especially nice this year!

Things are going very well up here at the North Pole. All the elves have been busy making sure everything is ready for the season. Gizmo Elf, my Chief Inventor Elf, has been especially busy. He's been upgrading the Apendapulator, which as you probably know, is our biggest toymaking whatchamathingy. He says this year, it's going to work so well, it will completely change the way we do Christmas. I'm not so sure I like that. I kind of like the way we do Christmas now. But never let it be said that I'm a closed-minded Kringle! I'll take a look at what he did after I get back from the parades.

Oh, and Gizmo gave ME a new gizmo! I've got a PDE--a Personal Digital Elf. I call it Petey. It's a little handheld thingy that lists my appointments, addresses, even my Naughty-Nice list--plus it can email stuff too. I just have to talk to it, and tell it where to send it, and off it goes. It's how I'm writing this right now. I'm still learning how to use it, though. I can check my Naughty-Nice list, read the Wish Lists, and get some emails--just not the emails from the North Pole. Gizmo says it must be a server problem. I don't know what he means. I got served dinner last night just fine!

Well, that's enough for now, I think. I've got lots of stuff to do before Christmas gets here--and I know you do too! Keep being helpful, and keep thinking of others! It's what makes Christmas special!

Ho Ho Ho!
