Claus Chats from Cucamonga

"We've got another email from Santa!" Jiller Elf called out.

Santa Claus was popped away from the North Pole by a malfunction of the Appendapulator, the great toymaking machine of the North Pole. Now, he's stuck in Rancho Cucomonga, California, waiting for Gizmo and the other elves to figure out a way to get him back.

Luckily, Santa had his PDE (Personal Digital Elf) with him, so that he can send messages back to the North Pole. Unluckily, emails from the North Pole don't seem to be able to get to him.

Hello, North Pole! I know you're all busy trying to figure out a way to get me back home, but I just wanted to tell you about something I saw here in Rancho Cucamonga.

A group of students from Caryn Elementary School donated dolls, art supplies, miniature cars and board games, and other toys for the community's Children's Fund. Those toys will go to needy children in the area for their Christmas. Can you imagine how happy those boys and girls will be on Christmas day?

There were other happy boys and girls too--the kids that were giving the toys were as happy as anyone! Ho! Ho! Ho! I love to see the true spirit of Christmas at work!

And speaking of work, I am assuming that you are all working hard up at the North Pole, figuring out a way to get me back. And I'm also sure that those of you who really don't have to be hanging around Gizmo's workshop are busy getting ready for Christmas--which will come whether I'm back or not!

Well, that's all for now. I patiently await your rescue.

My best to Mrs. Claus, and everyone else up there.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Santa

After reading the note, Allie, Louis, Adamup, and a number of other elves looked at each other sheepishly. "Santa's right," said Louis Elf. "We all need to get things ready."

"Yes, there's kids like those children in Rancho Cucamonga really deserve our best work," agreed Adamup. And many of the elves filed out to get back to work.

"We need to get back to work to get Santa back, too," said Gizmo. "I have a few ideas of what we can try."

Will Santa make it back in time fore Christmas? Keep reading the North Pole Times to find out!
