The BIG Appendapulator Move

Gizmo Says He'll Work While Toys are Made

[The BIG Appendapulator Move]

Moving a machine like the Appendapulator from one place to another is not an easy job. It's especially difficult when all the reindeer are busy competing at the Reindeer Games. But the great toy-making machine of the North Pole needed to get from Gizmo's workshop to the main toy-making building so it could start making the toys for Christmas--even though Santa was currently stuck in Rochester, NY, and Gizmo was still trying to figure out a way to use the machine to get him back. So, the elves may have do it by themselves.

Skis were placed underneath the Appendapulator, and a rope was tied to the front. Toby, Bernard, and Adamup Elf pulled on the rope, while Waldo, Jiller, Louis and Ali Elf pushed from behind. Twinkle Elf wanted to help too, but was too little, so he just ran around shouting encouragement to the other elves. As usual, he was excited, so, as usual, he mixed up his words.

"Hull it parder!" he shouted to the group on the rope. Then he ran to the elves in the back. "Peep kushing!" he told them.

"Help me to get my thinking straight on this," said Louis in between pushes. "This machine, it is for making toys. Then the Gizmo Elf-person makes a change in it, and it poofs Santa away. Now, it is to make toys while the Gizmo Elf-person tries to make it bring Santa back?"

"That's right," panted Jiller as she leaned her shoulders into the Appendapulator.

Twinkle Elf appeared next to them. "We're nearly there!" he squeaked. "You're grooing date!"

"So why does the counting-elf Adamup and the listing-elf Bernard think this thingy can make the toys any better than it can keep Santa Claus at the North Pole?" asked Louis.

"I don't know if they think that or not," grunted Ali Elf as she shoved so hard that she fell into the snow. "But they know that we can't make enough toys without it, and Gizmo says it's possible. Do you think you could push a little harder, Louis?"

"I am not wearing my machine-pushing jacket, but I will certainly try," said Louis. "Say, exactly where is the Gizmo Elf-person, anyway?"

"He's inside the machine," said Jiller Elf.

Just as she said that, there was boing, a poing, and a sproing from inside the Appendapulator, and a muffled elf voice shouting "Oh, snowballs!". Then there was a pop, and a gaily-wrapped package was sitting in the snow beside the Appendapulator. "Not again," said the package.

"Okay, now he's inside that Christmas present," said Jiller. "Twinkle, could you unwrap Gizmo and tell him to help push? We're nearly there!"

Even if all the toys get made, will Santa be able to deliver them? Keep reading The North Pole Times to find out!
