Is Waldo Elf Too Much Trouble?

Santa Discusses Options for Waldo Elf

[Is Waldo Elf Too Much Trouble?]

Bernard Elf is Santas #1 Elf--he's an expert at everything that has to do with the North Pole. He makes sure that everything runs as smooth as it can.

"...and since it's my job to make things run smooth, I need to tell you something." Bernard was talking with Santa as they hurried across the North Pole. "We need to do something with Waldo!"

Santa stopped. "Waldo? He's such a nice little elf," said Santa.

"Yes, he's nice, but trouble seems to follow him around," said Bernard. "Remember the time he fed chili to the reindeer to make them go faster?"

"Ho ho ho! I was in Brazil before I even stopped saying 'giddyap!'" Santa smiled. "He's an important part of the team. Whatever job you give him must be useful."

[by Elvin Elf] "Yes," said Bernard. "Useful, but also as far away from the North Pole as possible! That's why I want him to go to the South Pole, to see if we can set up a toy factory down there."

Santa scratched his bearded chin. "It might make sense to do that. It would be easier to deliver toys to the boys and girls in the southern hemisphere..."

"And then you wouldn't need to feed the reindeer chili to get to Brazil!" said Bernard.

"Ho ho ho! It could save us energy, too!" said Santa. "All right, I'll talk to him. What trouble could he bring us if he's at the South Pole?"

What trouble, indeed? Keep reading The North Pole Times to find out!
