Freak Lighting Zaps Claus and Waldo

[Sparks Fly at The North Pole!]

A freak lightning bolt has struck Gizmo Elf's workshop! Most of the force was absorbed by the Presentator, Gizmo's new present-swapping machine, but the two people closest to the machine--Santa and Waldo--were also zapped!

"Santa! Are you all right?" Bernard Elf asked as he rushed to his side.

"Whoa! Wow!" Santa said as he struggled to his feet.

Bernard helped him sit down. "Take it easy," he told his boss, then he looked over at the other victim of the lightning strike. "How's Waldo doing?"

"Well, it's always hard to tell with Waldo," said Ali Elf as she picked the little elf off the floor.

"Ho ho--ohhh!" said Waldo, as he looked around.

"They both seem to be okay," said Toby Elf.

"Well, Santa needs to get going," said Bernard. "He and Mrs. Claus are heading to the United States to visit some children in hospitals. If there's any problems, I'm sure she can take care of them." And Toby escorted the shaky Santa out to his waiting sleigh.

As he met up with Mrs. Claus, Santa asked: "Can we have some strawberry-and-mustard pudding on the trip?"

Bernard went over to Waldo. "And we want to make sure you get to your destination on time, too, Waldo!"

"Waldo?" said Waldo. "Why are you calling me that?"

"Because that's your name, silly Elf!" said Ali. "Come on, I'll take you to the Santa Express, and you'll be off to the South Pole in no time!"

"I'm Waldo?" asked Waldo as he was led out the door.

Why is Waldo so unsure of himself? Is Santa really okay? Keep reading The North Pole Times to find out!
