The Children's Hospital was buzzing with excitement today, as children, their parents, and even the doctors and nurses, were looking forward to a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

"When we got the letter from the North Pole, telling us that Santa was coming to visit, all the children started feeling better right away,"said Doctor Arthur Darling. "But although today's visit was nice, it did seem a little odd. For one thing, when Santa came in, he didn't shout 'Ho, ho, ho,' he said 'hey, look at my beard.'"

"Santa was very nice, and it was obvious that he loved the children--and they loved him, too," said Irene McCauley, a nurse at the hospital. "But every time a child told him what they wanted for Christmas, he would say 'I promise I'll tell Santa what you want.'"

Mrs. Claus was charming and kind, and brought cookies for the children who could eat them, and hand-knitted teddy bears for the ones on special diets.

"Speaking of diets," said Doctor Darling, "I didn't know that Santa liked strawberry-and-mustard pudding."

What's going on with Santa? Should he be going to a hospital himself? Keep reading The North Pole Times to find out!
