***CheckDate School is Necessary

But Learning is Fun

[***CheckDate School is Necessary]

Elves love school, but we don’t always make the best students! On snowy days, we can’t wait to get outside to race on our super-speedy elf sleds. We sometimes joke when we should be listening to our teachers. And we even get bored sometimes. Why one day, when we were practicing saying “thank you” in Elf Manners class, I started to fall asleep…and I’m the teacher! School can also be hard for elves. We have elves that are awful singers (they howl like a reindeer with a toothache), but they still learn to sing Christmas Songs. Our dentist elves take toy making classes, though they rarely make toys. I guess it’s like kids having to study reading and writing. There are many important things all elves need to know. All our teachers ask is that we try to do our best. Learning really does let us help each other. Last week, when all the toymakers in the workshoppe were sick, elves from all over the North Pole appeared to help make personalized ornaments. Even the dentists! So it’s good thing we all know how to make toys. There is also this one elf I know (Waldo, you might know him) and because of what he’s learned in elf school, he’s been able to do jobs all over the North Pole. He might not do a good job at much of anything, but at least he tries! [by Professor Ellie Elf] So, if you find yourself getting bored, tired or frustrated at something hard to do in school, just think of the elves. We understand. Just work hard, try your best, and remember, that Santa knows when you don’t! Next week we’ll be having our school graduation. I am so excited! All of you who pass last week's and this week's quizes will get an Official Saturday School of Wonders Diploma. You will be able to print it, sign it and hang it on the fridge for everyone to see! Take this quiz to see what you learned about our school! We’ll have the answers next Saturday. Do all elves have to learn about making toys?
1. Yes
2. No
3. It depends on what their job will be. Which statement do you think is right?
1. Elves really don’t like to school at all.
2. Elves love school, but aren’t always good at everything
3. Elves make the best students.
4. School? Elves don’t go to school! Which class do all elves have to take:
1. Toy making
2. Elf medicine
3. Training reindeer
