Jiller Elf, Tyler Close to Claus

Did they Find Him?

[Jiller Elf, Tyler Close to Claus]

A strange-looking group trudged along The South Pole. Tyler the Scientist and Jiller the Elf were supposed to be looking for Waldo Elf--who was actually Santa Claus, trapped in Waldo's body.

What they were mostly doing, however, was arguing.

The rest of the group was penguins. They thought Jiller was their leader. They went everywhere with her. And they did not trudge--they waddled.

"There's no such thing as Santa Claus," Tyler was saying, "and there's no such thing as elves!"

"How can you say there's no elves?" asked Jiller. "I'm an elf!"

"No, you only think you're an elf," said Tyler, who then added "thank you," as a penguin handed him a baseball glove.

"What?" sputtered Jiller. "Look at me! Look at my clothes! Look at my ears! If I wasn't an elf--I'd look more like this!" she said, showing him the doll that a penguin had given her.

"Not everyone looks the same," said Tyler. "Just like not every penguin looks the same, when you start studying them. You have pointed ears, and I don't. The penguin with the toy truck has a patch of yellow on her wings, while the penguin with the bicycle has black on his toenails..."

"Yes," said Jiller, "but the difference here is that they're all penguins, where you're a human, and I'm an elf!"

Jiller and Tyler glared at each other, while two penguins hopped by on pogo sticks.

"Did two penguins just hop past us on pogo sticks?" Tyler asked.

"Yes," said Jiller. "Where did they get pogo sticks?"

"From me!" said a voice behind her. It sounded a bit like Waldo's voice, but it also sounded like someone else...

[by Eugene Elf] "Santa?" Jiller whirled and looked at the creature walking towards her.

"Ho ho ho!" he laughed. "I feel like Santa, even if I don't much look like him! And you, Tyler," he said, looking at the scientist, "how can you not believe in Santa, when I was the one who gave you your first microscope?"

Will Tyler have an answer? More importantly, will they get back to the North Pole on time? Keep reading The North Pole Times to find out!
