The news that Santa has approved of one of Waldo Elf's ideas has caused some worry among some of the Elves at the North Pole. This is due mainly to the nature of some of Waldo's past ideas.
Santa had told all the Elves that he would make the special announcement at breakfast on Monday. And since gossiping is the fourth most favorite things Elves like to do,* they stood around in bunches on their cookies breaks, wondering what Monday would bring.
"Waldo's a nice enough Elf," said Gizmo, Santa's Chief Inventing Elf. "And he means well. But he's always getting in his own way. Remember last year when he took all of Holly Elf's ribbon and put it up in the dining room? He did it because he thought the song was 'Deck the Halls with Bows from Holly."
Ali Elf giggled. "That reminds me of when I tried to teach him a Christmas song in Spanish. He wanted to know why we were singing about sailing insect parents. It took me a while before I realized he thought I was singing 'Flea's Navy Dad.'" ![[by Santa Claus]](images_story/11_11_26_news_b.jpg)
"He's an Elf of rare talents, that's for sure," said Louis Elf. "I just wish they were even rarer."
"Santa seems to like him, though," said Gizmo. "But then, Santa likes everyone. I just hope this idea of his isn't too crazy."
