"Let's talk about bullying..."
Santa Claus sat in his study and looked at the two Elves sitting with him. Waldo and Teema Elf both looked sad and a little scared. "I want to talk to you both about what's been happening this season," said Santa. He turned to Teema. "Do you know what a bully is?" he asked her.
"I'm not a bully!" said Teema. "I haven't touched him!"
"Bullying is more than just pushing people around," said Santa. "When you hurt someone's feelings, call them names, and leave them out of things on purpose, that's bullying. and that's what you've been doing with Waldo all week." He smiled a little bit. "I know what kind of Elf you are, Teema," he said. "You want to be liked, just like the rest of us. And you are. You're a hard worker, and you have a beautiful singing voice. You don't have to feel like you don't belong if you don't want to." Teema's eyes widened. "I don't want to be a bully," she said. She looked at Waldo "I am so sorry I did those things!"
Santa then looked at Waldo. "I wonder why she picked on you, Waldo," he said. "Can you think of any reason why?"

Waldo shrugged. "I guess because I do weird things."
"We all do weird things," replied Santa. "Mrs. Claus wears mittens to bed. Bernard Elf likes to listen to my conversations through the door..."
"I do not! Oops," said a voice from behind the door. Santa grinned. "And I ride around on a sleigh pulled by flying deer and crawl down chimneys--what's weirder than that?" Waldo and Teema smiled. "So if it's not that, what could it be?"
"I don't know why she hurt me," said Waldo. "It's not like I hurt her or anything."
Santa looked at Teema. "Is that true, Teema? Has Waldo ever hurt you?"
Teema started to cry. "No, it's not true!" she said, then turned to Waldo. "You hurt me, too!"
