Reindeer Skate Through Games

Welcome back! Today, we continue with the second day of the Figure Skating competition, the fifth event of the games.

So far, we’ve had four gold medal winners – Donder in the High Jump, Comet in the Long Jump, Vixen in the Sprint Race and Prancer in the Around-the-World Marathon.

The Figure Skating event began yesterday with the actual "figures" competition, when each deer created a picture in the ice, using only their skates.

Today, the competition moves to the “short program.”

“Every deer skates the same seven moves and the judges decide who does best,” says Rudolph.

The competition will finish tomorrow with the long program.

“So far, it’s been very, very close,” says Rudolph. “Every deer is skating well.”
