Santa's Reindeer Begin Around-the-World Race

Magical Flying Powers on Display

[Santa's Reindeer Begin Around-the-World Race ]

It’s the Reindeer Games and Santa’s Great Eight are warming up for the Big Night! Today we begin the sixth event of the Games, and a very popular one, the Around-the-World race.

For sure, on Christmas Eve, our famous reindeer will lead Santa’s sleigh all around the world, hoping to bring joy to so many children everywhere. And to get the reindeer ready for the long and difficult journey, the reindeer will race around the world, right here in the Reindeer Games, less than 2 weeks before Christmas Eve.

The Around-the-World race will last four days, and will start today, right here at the North Pole. The reindeer will take off from the North Pole, and quickly head toward Europe. Tomorrow the reindeer will race to and through Asia and Australia. And the final two legs of the race will be through South America and Central America on the third day, and finally through North America, and then back to the North Pole on the final day. The winner of the race will earn the sixth gold medal of the Reindeer Games!

Surely our eight famous reindeer have many special abilities, but more than anything, leading Santa’s sleigh way up in the sky and all across the world, with their magical flying powers, makes them so well known and much loved. And that’s what we will see in the Around-the-Word race! Ok, we’re ready for the start of the race. Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder and Blitzen are at the starting line and ready to go! The first leg of the trip is from the North Pole and on toward Europe. And we’re off!

The reindeer are moving up and up, and are very high in the sky very quickly. Our reindeer are flying way above the North Pole and heading toward Europe very quickly. It’s going to be a fantastic race and fun journey through many famous places!

Oh my, the reindeer are already far from the North Pole and heading over Greenland! And then quickly over Iceland, and now the reindeer are moving very fast over the northern countries of Finland, Sweden and Norway. And then it’s west a bit, and back over Denmark.

And as the reindeer move over Denmark, we might remember that Denmark is home to a very famous toy, and perhaps a favorite toy for many of our readers, the Lego building blocks! The Lego blocks were invented many years ago in Denmark, and are still popular with many children all over the world. Lego means “play well” and that’s something our reindeer always try to do.

And flying well is what the reindeer are doing now. Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder and Blitzen are heading over England and Ireland, and then quickly moving into the rest of Europe now. Over Portugal and Spain and then over many other countries. The race is very close so far. All the reindeer are doing well here in the first day of the Around-the-World race!

Check back tomorrow for the second leg of the Around-the-World race, as the Reindeer Games continue! ONLY on THe North Pole Times!
