Dear Boys and Girls and all other readers of The North Pole Times:
Ho ho ho! It sure has been a strange Christmas Season! Have you ever spent a few days, or weeks, or even months away from your home? Even if you're having fun, it can be a bit confusing when you don't know where your stuff is. Now, think about how confused you can be if you're not even in your own body! That's what Waldo Elf and I had to deal with for the past month!
But I must confess: even though it was confusing, and a little bit scary, I'm glad I had this experience. Waldo, for all the trouble he can be, is a very gentle and kind Elf. I'm glad I could spend time in his shoes--but I hope never to see strawberries and mustard together ever again!
I want to thank all the Elves who went out of their way to make sure we were all ready for Christmas this year--especially Jiller, Ali, and Gizmo Elf, who all worked very hard to make sure I was ready to fly on Christmas Eve!
Have a wonderful Christmas Season, and a Happy New Year, and be sure to check back next year for more exciting happenings, here at The Official Newspaper of the North Pole--The North Pole Times!
Ho Ho Ho!
Santa
Have a Very Merry!
All season long, I've been inspired by Christmas carols and other songs that are piped into the toyshop at the North Pole and the North Pole Times newsroom.
The 2008 Reindeer Games came to end with the closing ceremonies at the Ice Palace. The Big Eight Reindeer led a parade around the North Pole to the Palace where they were honored for their efforts.
The games were fun for all and proved to be very exciting.
“I enjoyed all the events and am proud of my fellow deer,” said Rudolph. “I can’t wait until next year.”
Each reindeer won a gold medal and each finished second one time in the very competitive events.
Our gold medal winners are Donder in the 2,222-Mile Marathon, Cupid in the High Jump, Vixen in the Long Jump, Comet in the Sprint Race, Blitzen in the Around-the-World Marathon, Prancer in the Figure Skating competition, Dasher in the Speed Skating event and Dancer in the Obstacle Course.
The second-place finishers were Comet in the High Jump, Dancer in the Long Jump, Blitzen at the Sprint Race, Prancer in the Around-the-World Marathon, Cupid in Figure Skating, Donder in Speed Skating, Vixen in the Obstacle Course and Dasher in the 2222-Mile Marathon.
Thanks for following the games and see you next year!

Gizmo has one chance to swap Santa and Waldo back to their original bodies!
It's two days until Christmas Eve, and The North Pole is a busy, busy place! Presents are being wrapped, cookies are being baked, and Naughty/Nice lists are being checked!
Jiller the Elf was beside herself. This doesn't mean there were two Jiller the Elves (Jillers the Elf?), but that she was getting frustrated with the situation. While she was grateful for being rescued from affectionate penguins, she was having a hard time convincing her rescuer that she was who she said she was.
Ali Elf's feet hurt. She had been walking through the city all day, trying to track down Santa. Well, it wasn't really Santa--it was Waldo Elf in Santa's body. (Editor's Note: If that doesn't make sense to you, read some of the past issues of The North Pole Times.)
The Elves at the North Pole were worried. Something was wrong with Santa. He and Mrs. Claus were in the United States visiting a Children's Hospital, when Santa suddenly wandered off!
A freak lightning bolt has struck Gizmo Elf's workshop! Most of the force was absorbed by the Presentator, Gizmo's new present-swapping machine, but the two people closest to the machine--Santa and Waldo--were also zapped!
For everyone south of the North Pole (and that's pretty much everyone), Christmas is the biggest day of the year. At the North Pole, however, the really important part is The Big Night--Christmas Eve!
Waldo Elf is a nice little elf, but trouble always seems to follow him around! Santa and his #1 Elf, Bernard, need to find something to keep him busy this Christmas season!
