Gizmo Elf Worried

Inventer Elf Looking Before Launching

[Gizmo Elf Worried]

Gizmo Elf looked worried. Of course, Gizmo Elf always looked worried, but right now, he looked even more worried than usual. He took a look in his telescope, and sighed.

"What's the matter, Gizmo?" asked Jiller Elf. She had come to help Gizmo, Santa's Chief Inventor Elf, build the rescue rocket to go and get Santa Claus, who right now was in orbit, with no way to come down. "Is there a problem with the rocket?"

"Oh, no, not at all," said Gizmo. "We're doing a great job building the rocket. It should be ready to launch, right on schedule."

"Then what's worrying you?" she asked again.

Gizmo looked into his telescope again. "We don't know where Santa Claus is."

"Of course we do!" said Jiller. "He's in space, in orbit around the planet!"

[by Elvin Elf] "Yes, but where in orbit is he?" asked Gizmo. He picked up a globe and spun it. "This is a big planet! He could be orbiting anywhere--above, Toronto, or San Diego, or Rochester, or London, or even Tokyo! We have no way of finding him. Space is a pretty big place," he said.

"I see," said Jiller. "I think I have an idea on how to find him, but I need to go to see Elvin Elf, the publisher of The North Pole Times, for help!" And she rushed out of the workshop.

What does Jiller have in mind? How can this humble newpaper help her? The only way you can find out, is by reading The North Pole Times!
