It turns out the silliest elf to ever wear curl-toed shoes is zooming around in space with Santa Claus! After a head count, the elves discovered that Waldo Elf was the one who blasted off with Santa on Thanksgiving when the unfinished rocket launched into orbit.
“Well, that explains why no one was missing from the factory,” said Toby Elf, Santa’s Chief Toy-making Elf. “No one wants Waldo working for them!”
“But I don’t understand,” Louis Elf, Santa’s new Doll Fashion Designer, interjected. “What’s the problem with this Waldo Elf? Why doesn’t anyone want him?”
Waldo’s Unusual Ways
“You’re new at the North Pole, Louis, so you might not understand,” explained Jiller Elf. “Waldo’s a very unusual elf. He’s not stupid or clumsy; he’s just… Waldo. It’s hard to explain. For instance, once I sent him to get some pictures of a polar bear for a story in the North Pole Times. He saw a sign that said ‘BEAR LEFT,’ so he came home!”
“And this is who is with Santa right now?” Louis replied, sounding worried. “Hokey Smokes! We need to get him down as soon as possible!”
What’s Next for Santa and Waldo?
