Sprint Race Speeds to Final Round

WOW! These Reindeer are FAST!

[Sprint Race Speeds to Final Round]

oday, we conclude our third event of the games, the Sprint Race.

Dasher, Donder, Prancer and Comet each earned a spot in today’s final round with a very good effort in yesterday’s first round. The winner of today’s race will take the third gold medal of the games.

A large crowd has gathered to see today’s final and that includes Santa, who’s on hand to see how the Great Eight are doing.

“The reindeer are very, very fast and very talented,” said Santa. “And we will be very happy to see who wins the gold medal. But what’s most important is that each deer give their best effort and try as hard as they can. That’s what matters most. Not everyone can run fast or jump high. No one can win every time. But if you give your best effort and try as hard as you can, you will have fun and you can feel good.”

And with those good thoughts, we are set to begin the race. Up to the starting line are Dasher, Donder, Prancer and Comet. Thanks to Manny Elf, head of Reindeer Games construction, we have a very fine course, and we are ready to go. The flag is up and the race is on!

It’s just a blur as all four reindeer speed out of the starting blocks and onto the course. In but a few seconds they’ve completed one, two, three and then four miles! Wow, the speed and agility continue to amaze the many North Polians in the stands.

Taking the early lead is Prancer, who’s just an antler ahead Comet, followed closely by Dasher and Donder.

“We’re off to a great start,” said Rudolph. “The reindeer are each giving a strong effort and moving as fast as they can.”

Heading into the seven-mile mark, it’s still too close to call. But it seems Comet has inched ahead, followed by Donder, Dasher and then Prancer, who is just a few centimeters off the lead.

At the nine-mile mark, it’s still a race. Now sliding into first place is Prancer, followed by Comet.

“Wow, this is fantastic,” said Rudolph. “It’s going to be a very good finish.”

And down the stretch they come! With just yards to go, it could be any deer! Heading to the finish line, it’s up for grabs, and across the line … it’s too close to call.

“Oh my, we’ll need some video to sort this one out,” said Rudolph. “Let’s see what the Official Elves have to say.”

After further review, our winner is Comet followed by Prancer. Comet is the third gold medal winner of the Games!

Check back tomorrow as we continue the games with our fourth event, the very exciting Around-the-World Marathon. After that, the deer will be showing their skills in Figure Skating, Speed Skating, the Obstacle Course and the Snowboarding event in what hopes to be the best Reindeer Games ever!
