Gizmo Elf Has Secret

Santa Claus returns to the North Pole as elves begin in earnest the process of getting ready for Christmas. "Oh, there's lots to do!" said Adamup Elf, Santa's counting elf. "We have to check the Naughty and Nice list--twice, as per Santa's orders--every day, and then compare that list to the wish list. and THEN Santa has to go through and figure out which toys and games the children will get. Goodness knows, if every child got EVERY toy the asked for, there would be no room in their rooms for their clothes!"

"And lots of kids want those clothes, too!" Said Ally Elf. "We see lots of requests for really cool new clothes. It's not just socks and underwear anymore."

Meanwhile, Gizmo Elf has been busy in his own workshop, putting the final touches on the Apendapulator, the great machine that makes most of the toys at the North Pole. "He and Waldo have been in there forever," said Jiller Elf, "and they won't let anyone get a peek at what they're doing. Gizmo told me they're doing something to it that will change the way we get ready for Christmas!

"I sure hope he knows what he's doing," she added. "I kind of like the way we do thing now."

"At least he's keeping Waldo busy," chimed in Eugene Elf. "As long as he's with Gizmo, it means he's not causing trouble elsewhere!"
