- Rocket Launches Santa into Orbit -
Fresh from a tremendous Thanksgiving Parade, Santa was mysteriously launched into space. It happened early Thanksgiving afternoon, just after Mrs. Claus' famous Thanksgiving Dinner.
"He was just taking a walk to make more room for dessert," a distraught Mrs. Claus told the North Pole Times. "He said there was something he wanted to check up on, and then suddenly--FAZOOM!" She dabbed a tear away with the corner of her apron, and then added. "Does anyone want some pie? Without Santa here, it's just going to go to waste."
"We heard the explosion all the way over into the Toy Counting room," Adamup Elf, Chief Toycounting Elf, reported. "It was frighteningly loud for seven seconds, extremely loud for 13 seconds, very loud for nine, loud for 11, and a dwindling rumble for one minute, three seconds."
"At first we thought there was some sort of terrible explosion," said Jiller Elf, who was helping in the Doll Making department when she heard the noise. "I ran outside, and saw a red-and-white spaceship launching into the sky. I ran into the broadcast room and heard Santa's voice on the radio. A lot of it was static, but I did hear him say 'Ho Ho Hoooooonooooooo!' I can't believe a rocket launches Santa into orbit!"
How did Santa get launched into space? Whose rocket is it? Where is Santa going? And more importantly, will he get back in time for Christmas? The North Pole Times will keep you updated on these and other stories throughout the Christmas Season!
