Recipe by Ali Elf
1 cup soft butter
1/2 confectioner's sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon almond extract or 2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour
1 to 2 cups finely chopped or ground walnuts, pecans or almonds, nuts, black walnuts or filberts
Mix butter with sugar until creamy.
Add salt, extract, flour, nuts and mix well.
Chill dough until easy to handle.
Using fingers, shape into 1 inch balls or crescents.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
While still warm, roll in confectioner's sugar or fine cookie crumbs.
