Uh Oh - Will Christmas be Cancelled?

Yeti's Gift-Wrap a Problem

[Uh Oh - Will Christmas be Cancelled?]

SMASH! CRASH! BASH!

Mrs. Claus and the Elves hurried to Gizmo's workshop as fast as the could. "Oh dear! I hope they don't do too much damage to the rocket" shouted Mrs. Claus.

BASH! SMASH! CRASH!

"Maybe it's not as bad as it sounds!" said Gizmo, uncertainly. The sound echoed through the North Pole. The rocket, built by Gizmo and the Appendapulator--the great toymaking machine Gizmo changed into a rocket-building machine--was all ready to launch for a rescue mission to get Santa from orbit!

CRASH! SMASH! WRAP!

The elves stopped, confused. "Wrap?" asked Jiller Elf. "What sort of sound is that?" They hurried into the workshop and saw...

"Holy Toledo!" cried Toby Elf. "Where did these huge presents come from?" The workshop was filled with gigantic packages, all neatly wrapped, with ribbons and bows, each with a name tag on them!

"'To Santa,'" read Mrs. Claus. "Where did these presents come from? Where's the rocket?"

[by Elvin Elf] A ripping sound came from one of the packages. Gizmo was unwrapping it "Hey! You can't unwrap that!" shouted Toby Elf. "It's a present for Santa!"

"No it's not," said Gizmo. "At least, not any more. It's the rocket. The Yeti must have thought it was a present for Santa, so they took it apart and wrapped it for him."

"Can you put it back together again?" asked Jiller Elf.

"Sure," said Gizmo. "It will take me six days."

"That's the day after Christmas!" said Mrs. Claus. "I'm sorry," said Gizmo. "That's the best I can do."

"Well, then that leaves us no choice." Mrs. Claus wiped a tear from her eye. "We'll have to cancel Christmas this year."

Can this be true? Will Christmas be canceled this year? Keep reading The North Pole Times to find out!
