Who Went to Space with Santa?

Searching for the Mystery Elf!

While some elves at the North Pole are busy figuring out how to get Santa back to Earth (check out yesterday’s story for more details), other elves are on a mission to find out who the elf is that blasted off with Santa on Thanksgiving!

“I suggest we count all the shoes of the elves, then divide by two,” said Adamup Elf, Santa’s Chief Toy-counting Elf. “Then we subtract that number from the total number of elves at the North Pole. That will tell us exactly how many elves are missing!”

“That’s a great idea, Adamup, but we already KNOW how many elves are missing—just one!” replied Toby Elf. “And that elf isn’t really missing; we know exactly where he or she is. We just need to find out WHO it is!”

The Investigation Continues

“I’ve spent the day going over the work rosters,” reported Ali Elf, looking puzzled. “According to this, all the elves are accounted for. There’s not one single elf working at the North Pole who hasn’t shown up for their job.”

“Oh no…” Toby Elf moaned. “That can only mean one thing! Who’s the only elf at the North Pole who doesn’t have a job? Which elf messes up at every job he’s been given? Who makes the most mistakes of anyone?”

“WALDO!” the elves exclaimed together.
